Youth Treatment Counselor
Implementation of all lodge based treatment programs. Programming should address the development and clinical needs of the clients. Supervise and/or facilitate routine therapeutic living activities within the boundaries of the behavioral systems, policies and procedures, and the clinical needs as viewed by the treatment team, commensurate with the goals and objectives of the agency. Implement all relevant policies and procedures regarding routine household activities including but not limited to: clean up, laundry, personal hygiene, grooming, manners, etc. Assist in the transportation of clients per supervisor's request. Assist in providing recreational and leisure activities. Provide consistent messages to clients, avoid "power struggles" and intervene and assist in the resolution of crisis situations between clients. Provide consistent, full-time supervision for lodge clients at all times to ensure accountability of clients (especially note transition times to and from administration, school, gym, and evening/weekends). Special staff assignments as primary CCC to assure regular face-to-face contact with clients. Required to implement and or participate in physical restraints of the clients when necessary. Provide routine documentation, prepare daily reports, and assist the team in completing treatment reports. Report to work on time. Complete all necessary paperwork promptly as scheduled. Complete any outstanding paperwork or other responsibilities prior to taking time off. Environment–Assure that the lodge is a clean, safe, healthy treatment environment, which meets all licensing requirements. Supervise and facilitate client care of the environment. Request via requisitions any resources necessary to fulfill this. Recommend any changes, which would enhance the treatment environment. Complete fire drills as necessary to assure compliance with the Griffith Centers for Children standards.
QUALIFICATIONS: A minimum of 60 credit hours from an accredited university. Experience of one year in a related field and demonstrated competence may be utilized to waive the college education.
COMPENSATION: $11.50 to $14.00 per hour, depending on experience and education. Plus, benefit package for qualifying employees to include: dental coverage, free life insurance, a choice between two different medical plans, a 403 (b) plan, tuition reimbursement, and employees can eat for free in the cafeteria while on shift. Benefits eligibility is the first of the month after one month of employment.

I would like this job because I am graduating in Dec with my Bach degree in CJ and want to work with youth. I did my internship this past summer with youth and also have other experience.
